Accompanied by Members of Parliament including Mrs. Sumitra Mahajan, Mr. Vanlalzawma, and Mr. Sachin Pilot, along with senior officials from the President’s Office and the Ministry of External Affairs, President Kalam engaged with Singapore’s top leaders. He met with President S.R. Nathan, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew, and other notable figures, including Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo, Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang, and Minister for Defence Teo Chee Hean.
The highlight of the visit was President Kalam’s delivery of the 27th Singapore Lecture, titled “Evolution of Enlightened Societies on our Planet,” on February 1, 2006. His lecture was a deep exploration of societal progress and enlightenment, reflecting his vision and insight.
